If you can dream it, you can be it. 

That's the message behind the awesome new children's book, RAD Girl Revolution, now on Kickstarter!

RAD stands for Rise Above Doubt and Reach Any Dream. The book will feature 30 inspiring storybook-style photos of real little girls in fields typically under-represented by women, along with a rhyming verse describing each career.

All this rebellion comes from pushing limits and learning the “why” of things. Parenting children through learning the reasons behind the rules can be emotionally, physically, and intellectually draining. But it can also be inspiring - because occasionally our little rebels discover rules that really do need to be broken.

It’s the two-year anniversary of our Kickstarter finish, and we are so happy to be here, doing this work we love that our backers made possible - making awesome clothes for awesome girls. Here’s our quick update from the past year.

As the mom of one tween and one young teen, I understand only too well the challenge of finding versatile, well-fitted clothing for young girls. To solve the problem that I (and many other parents) face on a daily basis, I created CALZICO – a fun and functional tween apparel line that encourages individuality, decision-making and personal style.

Little known fact: planning a successful crowdfunding campaign is like planning a wedding. It’s a huge amount of work beforehand, a lot of happiness and stress while it’s happening, and at its conclusion, you end up with a commitment and a responsibility to make good on promises you proclaimed publicly. Plus, if you’re like me, you’ll end up with a partner whom you start to call your “business wife.”

So if you want to plan a successful campaign, think about planning a terrific wedding. This analogy will help dispel some myths that can sink your campaign from day one.

Rebecca: What if we make a dress with a car and a road on it?

Eva: YES, and what if the car is on a string so the girl can drive it around on the dress and play with the dress?

Rebecca: YES, and we could do other vehicles, too! Like trains and airplanes!
