We’re getting closer.
Our fabric has been ordered, printed, and shipped. Our labels have been ordered, printed, and shipped. Our cut and sew contractor has cut and sewn our sample dresses. They are currently en route somewhere between New York City and Washington, D.C. (The pictures look amazing. Can I tell you how excited I am/we are to hold them in our hands??)
Interviews for our Kickstarter video have been filmed, sent, and are being edited. Eva and I will record our portion of the video this weekend.
We’ve got spreadsheets of mom-blogs and geek-blogs and mom/geek-blogs and girl-powered blogs and boutiques and online stores. (Do you have some you think we should contact? Please share!) We’re preparing for a media blitz.
We are getting closer. We are almost ready.
I’ve been trying to think of something clever and interesting to blog about now that the holidays and travel are over, but I can’t. Because I’m too excited. I’m too nervous. My brain space is overtaken with final details and preparations and random ideas that I tell Eva in a mishmosh of a conversation at nine o’clock at night when we’re both exhausted.
So this is neither clever nor interesting. I’m just telling you that we’re getting ready. And we’re getting closer. As of this moment, we are on schedule to launch the Princess Awesome Kickstarter in early February. That is one month away. So get ready, folks.
It’s gonna be great.

I’m an illustrator, surface designer and educator based in Atlanta, GA. I live with my boyfriend and our three rescue kitties, who very often make it into my art, especially the two black cats.
I feel very comfortable creating art for kids, because I'm really a kid at heart. I love cute animals and bright colors. I find it particularly satisfying to distill complex concepts into simple shapes that are stylized but easily recognizable.
Sienna Farr was one of Princess Awesome's first models, before our Kickstarter, before we were much more than a dream and a few dresses made of tee shirts and quilting material. She died in a fire that also seriously injured her mother on August 11, 2023, aged 13.
Princess Awesome is so proud to partner with Women in Aviation International to sponsor a design contest during the summer of 2023. We are looking for your awesome ideas for new clothing that features airplanes, helicopters, engineering concepts, schematics - anything that has to do with aviation.
