You’ve probably seen our little awesome Princess* B - she is the fabulous and adorable model for our Pirates, Starry Night, and Trucks - Kerpow! dresses.
Why is B one of our models? Because she is one of the girls who inspired us to start Princess Awesome - a girl full of imagination with a broad range of interests.
B loves, loves, LOVES to draw, color, and write. “We have to keep many envelopes, tape, scissors, and glitter on hand at all times,” says her mother. “She writes letters to school friends and makes cards constantly. I ended up buying an entire box of computer paper because she goes through it so fast.” B’s subject matter ranges from the natural (trees, flowers, rocks, animals) to the fantastical (fairies, dragons), and sometimes she combines the two:
This is a picture of a Spinosaurus losing its teeth. See the Tooth Fairy, coming to pay him? (I wonder what the going rate for Spinosaur canines is these days…)
B has twin older brothers, who, despite being super cool 8-year-old third graders, happily play stuffed animal veterinarians with B. All three kids enjoy the outdoors, particularly watching deer and skipping stones in the creek. They all play Minecraft and Legos. She does crafts with her brother who shares her interest in art, and catches critters with her animal-loving brother. They all ride bikes and scooters together, and here they are dressed as superheroes for Halloween a few years ago:
B also loves to wear jewelry and headbands, and especially beautiful dresses. Her closet is chock-a-block with Zulily finds (and Princess Awesome originals). Her favorite colors are pink, purple, red, and blue. She loves to dance (takes ballet, jazz, and tap) and is a star soccer player.
Hooray for B! We are Princess Awesome because YOU are an awesome princess!*

About a week ago, a very kind customer wrote in to say that two of the "Hello Chum" sharks dresses she received in the mail had two strange discolorations on the skirt. They seemed to line up perfectly with the tape that was on the clear plastic bag holding each dress.
"That's so strange!" we wrote back, and immediately sent her two new dresses assuming it was some one-off problem with the dresses she had received. But after we heard from another customer with the same problem, and the first woman's replacement dresses ALSO had these strange discolorations, we knew something was up.
