Introducing Sonia and her daughters, Elena and Fern, our Customers of the Week!
Allow us to make an introduction.
Friends, meet awesome customer Sonia, and her daughters, Elena and Fern.
Sonia, Fern, and Elena, may we present to you the awesome Princess Awesome community?
We love getting to know our amazing customers from all across the country (and the world!), and we thought you might like to get to know them, too.
We asked Sonia to tell all of us a little more about her awesome daughters. Here’s what she said:
Vital Stats:
Names: Elena and Fern
Nicknames: Elena's nickname is Snug and Fern's is Ity!
Ages: Elena is 5 and Fern is 3.
Favorite joke:
They both get a kick out of knock jokes, especially the banana one with the punch line "Orange you glad I didn't say banana!"
What they love to do:
Elena and Fern are both artists, designers, engineers, inventors, explorers, and adventurers. They are curious about everything and are always asking questions and making observations. Elena especially loves art and takes ballet and tap. Fern is my singer and is desperate to begin dance like her sister in the fall. They both love to snuggle in for story time! Favorite books include The Diggers by Margaret Wise Brown for Fern and Elena and I are reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone together at bedtime! This is Mama's favorite time too!
The last thing she did that made you laugh:
These ladies are always making me laugh! But we were trying to memorize some very fast rapping segments of a song from Hamilton: An American Musical and we were making each other laugh trying to master the lines! [Ahhhhh!!! Rebecca and I and all our kids love Hamilton too!!]
A favorite story about each of them:
Elena is constantly solving problems in her mind and then putting together prototypes! The other day we were planning to attend a free symphony concert in the park but it was predicted to rain that evening and I told her that it may be canceled because of the weather. Well she set about building an individual structure out of materials around the house that could serve as a hands free shelter so we would not have to miss future outdoor adventures! Such ingenuity!
Fern is my observer and I will find her at a window staring out into the world. When she was very young, just sitting up, Fern and a robin were having what appeared to be a full on conversation, chirping and gurgling to one another, the hopping came closer and closer, their eyes were locked and they were so engaged. We started calling her our woodland creature for a while after that encounter! To this day she spends huge parts of her day pretending to be different animals as she plays!
Their favorite Princess Awesome dresses:
Elena loves her busy car dress especially since she has an extensive hot wheel collection! It's the perfect dress for her! Fern loves her busy train dress as she stops everything to watch the train speed by, just beyond the wood behind our home!
