Original Goal: 1,000 MASKS
NEW GOAL: 10,000 MASKS
PLEDGED: 6,909 MASKS
Help us keep our factory workers employed while supplying our health care system with Personal Protective Equipment!
There is a critical shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for United States health care workers due to the covid-19 outbreak. You can help! Donate the cost of making a mask to help both our health care workers and to keep our factory workers employed.
A surgical mask is a loose-fitting, disposable device that creates a physical barrier between the mouth and nose of the wearer and potential contaminants in the immediate environment. If worn properly, a surgical mask is meant to help block large-particle droplets, splashes, sprays, or splatter that may contain germs (viruses and bacteria), keeping it from reaching your mouth and nose. Surgical masks may also help reduce exposure of your saliva and respiratory secretions to others. Masks are an essential part of PPE for workers in every role of our health care system.
Our factory workers in Chicago are capable of producing 10,000 masks per week working entirely from their own homes on their personal sewing machines. Because they are currently sheltering-in-place, they cannot go to the factory to work, which means their paychecks will soon stop coming.
We can help alleviate the PPE crisis and keep our factory workers employed by funding and producing surgical masks.

Thank you so much for your support!
(PS - You will be prompted to put in your shipping address at checkout, but don't worry! We won't ship them to you. We just can't change that part of our system.)
