The Big Dipper asterism, also called the Plough or the Saptarishi, is so easy to recognize that it is almost universally known in every Northern Hemisphere culture. Even young children can spot it, and so it is frequently the first thing in the night sky that young aspiring amateur astronomers learn to point out. The stars in the Big Dipper are also handy in finding Polaris, Spica, and other important celestial objects.

This 1" diameter steel pendant displays the stars in the Big Dipper, as well as several neighboring stars. Being steel, the pendant will never tarnish, and is both beautiful and sturdy. It hangs from a 24" steel ball chain (see second photo).
